Using the Law of Attraction
Filed under Law of Attraction, abundance toolsNov 16If you have seen or read The Secret or maybe read any of the Abraham books, you are familiar with the Law of Attraction, which says that we attract what we focus our attention on. It’s a little more involved than that –it really is about your overall vibration. Your outer reality always corresponds to your inner vibration. The Law of Attraction creates outer circumstances that match your inner reality. It’s related to the Hermetic axiom, As Above, So Below. It could just as easily say, As Inner, so Outer.
To use the Law of Attraction, it helps to be aware of what you are thinking and feeling as much as possible. When you react to events that don’t please you in a negative way, you are attracting more of the same. This is really the key to mastering the Law, and the most difficult part of it. For it demands that you pay more attention to your desires than to what is “really” happening in your outer world. I put “really” in quotes because it’s just an assumption we make that outer events are more real than our inner reality. If anything, it’s the other way around. As quantum theory teaches, everything is made of energy –physical reality is actually further removed from pure energy than our thoughts and emotions. So if we want to change things, it’s the inner world that is of primary importance!

EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) is a simple “tapping” exercise used to release blocks in any area of our life. There are many ways to use EFT. It can be used to let go of painful memories (not to make you literally forget something, but to release the painful emotion associated with the memory), to help break addictions or bad habits or to work on issues such as self esteem.
Brad Yates, along with Joe Vitale has developed a program called Money Beyond Belief, that shows you how to use EFT for abundance.
Here is a video where Brad Yates demonstrates how to use EFT to get a great start to the day –

Creating Your Own Economy
Filed under Alternative economicsNov 10Is it time to rethink our ideas about money? Money is many things. It is really an agreement between individuals and groups about the value of various items. One problem with the current system of money is that it’s controlled by central institutions. Most of us take this for granted, but should we?
When we read about the economy, it tends to perpetuate a feeling of powerlessness. If you think about it, why should you or I be subject to the whims of bankers, governments, speculators, the Federal Reserve or other large institutions?
What are the alternatives? One is to get involved in political movements that promise reform. This tends to be a very slow process, in the rare instances when it works at all. Another solution is to create alternatives that we can start to implement right away. How might we do this?
One possibility is to create alternative forms of money or exchange. Barter is one possibility. Another is to create actual currencies, such as can be used in local communities and on the internet. These already exist. You can do a search online for “alternative currencies” or “local currencies.”

To find true abundance may mean defining and creating abundance for ourselves. The old definitions and institutions may not provide us with the best ways of doing this!

Abundance vs. “the economy”
Filed under UncategorizedNov 9In today’s apparently shrinking economic climate, it may be hard to think in terms of abundance consciousness, or the abundance meme as I call it. There are a few things to consider about this.
First of all, if we are willing to accept the possibility that we create our own reality, then we don’t have to buy into the definitions given to us by the media or government. They always deal in abstractions, like “the economy.” They are dealing in broad generalizations. At every time in history, some people have prospered, and others have not. “The Economy” is really a very limited idea.
The mainstream media and other institutions also think very traditionally or conservatively. They measure everything in terms of the present paradigm. What if new possibilities for an abundant future are right in front of us? For example, right now unemployment is rising. Yet jobs are not the only way to experience abundance. In fact, the traditional nine-to-five concept of employment has been in decline for decades. Innovative people may have to create new ways of making a living, probably as freelancers of one kind or another. This can be a very liberating concept if we aren’t tied into the old paradigms.
Another way the mainstream paradigm tends to distort things is in its assumption that bigger and more expensive is always better. Housing prices, the stock market and the GNP, for example, are supposed to rise forever, according to conventional economic wisdom. Yet is this really possible, or even desirable? Similarly, the complaint about retail sales assumes that people should be spending a certain amount on retail items. This is where we might ask ourselves if abundance and materialism are really the same thing.
I am not suggesting that we should lower our expectations and get into a mode of just surviving. But, in many ways, the assumptions about consumer spending rely on an environment of excess. For example, consider the automobile industry. It’s entirely possible, even likely, that our most abundant possible future will be one in which cars play a much smaller role. Yet conventional analysis of “the economy” will never consider such things.
The point is, we don’t have to define abundance in the same way as the economists, politicians and media. If we define it for ourselves, and then go about creating it, we don’t have to pay so much attention to what we are told. Don’t let others define your reality!

The Law of Attraction: Abraham
Filed under Law of AttractionNov 4The Abraham books, channeled by Esther Hicks, have introduced many people to the Law of Attraction This law states that you are always attracting with your thoughts and emotions, and that what you attract will always correspond to what you are vibrating. So in order to attract abundance in the outer world, you must vibrate abundance in your feelings.
In the latest Abraham book, Money and the Law of Attraction, Abraham describes how to align your emotions with abundance by telling better stories about your life to yourself. The book also talks about manifesting health and physical well being.
The Abraham books are interesting, because while there is nothing exactly “new” in them –the same basic metaphysical ideas can be found in books written in the 19th Century and even earlier– the way it’s presented is so simple and straightforward that it’s easier to learn. The books are deceptively simple, because to master these lessons you really have to pay attention to every detail and then remember to apply it to your daily life.
The following is the first part of a five part video series that was taped at an Abraham workshop. You can find the links to the rest of the series on Youtube.
